January '08.- An invitation to the tango art event
Buenos Aires Social ClubA 5 day Tango art exhibition/event at Newlyn Art gallery, Cornwall.
Wednesday 13th to Sunday 17th February '08
Amanda Lorens will work in collaboration with a group of artists to curate and produce an exhibition that uses tango dancing as a means of exploring issues around intimacy and non verbal communication. The artists will create work in a variety of media inc. drawing, video, performance, writing, sound, dance, music and photography.
The exhibition will include live dance generated drawings, a tango confessional booth, live projections and much more.
Artists include; Biljana Lipic, John Keys, Andy Wood, Dominic Thomas and others.
BA social club is a space for experimentation, social interaction, participation and dancing.
Free five minute tango lessons offered with tea and cake available throughout the week.
Saturday 16th February 7 - 9pm
BA social club final culminating exhibition/Performance/social event9 - 10 pm mini milonga
Gallery opening times; 10am - 5pm Wednesday to Sunday
Exhibition finishes at 1pm Sunday 17th
